About This Station

The station has been collecting data since 5th September 2012, originally powered by a Fine Offset 1081, but on 14 December 2016 a Davis Vantage Vue was installed. The various sensors update data at least once per minute and this site is updated every 5 minutes. Data is collected using Cumulus Software. The station is comprised of a rain gauge and a thermo-hydro sensor situated approximatelty 2 metres above ground level. An anemometer is situated above the roofline and approximately 8 metres above ground level.

About Fordingbridge UK

The small Hampshire town of Fordingbridge, with a population of approximatley 6,000, sits on the banks of the River Avon. The first Great Bridge, from which the town received its present name, was built in mediaeval times prior to 1252. It is built of local stone and has a total of 7 arches spanning the river. Although it has been subject to various works over the years it remains a major feature of the town. The town lies just beyond the north western edge of the New Forest National Park with Cranborne Chase to the west and close to the county borders of Dorset and Wiltshire.
